Uggg... so cold. It hailed yesterday and today with like 3 different layers of clothing i was chattering all the way up to school. I started my winter quarter this week with History 102, Mind/Body Health, and Cultural Anthropology. My history teacher is a really great and Mind/Body health is turning out interesting. The other day we were using those gigantic exercise balls and the whole class got to bounce around on them like idiots. Then Cultural Anthropology is really facinating.
I'm about 2/3rds done with my giant embroidery piece as well. I can't wait to start sewing it into the pillow. As far as art i'be been working on this ( here )
It's not much, but i'm still trying to work on the minicomic idea that she's in. It just might take a while since i've got to work on more concept art.

Ugh... I have been studying for finals, watching Taiwan's It Started With A Kiss drama nonstop, and reading Louise Rennison's Started By His Furry Shorts alot lately. Also me and the bf got a Wii a few weeks ago. I am so addicted to tennis on the Wii Sports that my arms have been sore for a week. It's so marvy. Anyways, tomorrow is my Psychology final and then Wednesday is my History final. I'm going to miss going to History, my teacher is so kickass. I mean, can you imagine going to school each morning watching this batty old lady dress up in costumes and wave about swords and so forth? Aaah... but I have decided to take her again for History 102, plus I'm taking a Health course, Cultural Anthropology, and Astrology. Alot of -ology. But i figured it's my 3rd quarter at Clark so i need to be taking a few required courses. I'm still so afraid of taking the math placement test. I feel my brain starting to short circut already X___x.
Nothing new in the art department. I want to do some xmas art for people though so as soon as finals are done i'm breaking out the watercolors. Strangely enough i haven't really been watching any anime lately. I really need to get around to watching Ouran Host Club, and i've preordered the Paradise Kiss and Hellsing Ultimate boxes <3. But nothing i've been watching. Sewing's coming along nicely too. I'm about to start working on some pillows and bags, hopefully after I get good with that i can move on to skirts ^o^. I really want to learn how to knit and crochet toooooo... I was reading Shoujo Beat and they had instructions for these swanky earmuffs that make you look like the queen in Katamari Damacy. Which i need to play again sometime :P.
I seem to be babbling so i'll take a break and update again sometime after finals.

@_______@ It is just way too difficult to update anything in my life on a regular basis. Between school (which thankfully, finals week is the week after next) and getting ready for the next semester, job hunting, making sure things are in order since my parents are moving to Dallas, TX in a week and a half, thanksgiving, christmas shopping, fixing my busted up car, and when i have a moment, practicing my embroidery (french knots are EVIL).... i feel like my brain is going to explode. For the past year i've felt so bad about not keeping up with things and not being able to do things when i said i would. I'm really going to do my best, once all that former mentioned mess is done with, to at least keep up with what i need to or have said that i'd do.
Once i have things a little more settled i'll do a decent update, hopefully with some art as well (crosses fingers).

I don't know why i chose that as the subject, it just is. Yes it's been a while but school is HARD. Every week there's a test in psychology and so far there's been 3 quiz/tests in my World Civilization class as well. Add on to that my art assignments and every Friday afternoon i go to a figure drawing lab (which is awsome by the way). Add in life and the gravitational force of my beloved Nintendo DS and it's just hard to find some free time.
I got ( this ) little thing done but that's it so far. YES, i know it's like the last drawing i did but after working on the girl for so long i just decided to scrap the other parts and just do a crap bg. Don't even get me started on the nipple... someone needs to make me a nipple tutorial cause i'm too lazy to look it up. ... AAaaanyways, I want to start writing down the plot and hopefully i'll be able to do some character designs this weekend since we're off on Friday. I want to do some Rufus sketches and work on my horned brothers as well.
Oh, and i am beside myself with joy. Unadulteraded JOYYYYYY. In 2 weeks Marie Antoinette and The Prestige both come out in theaters. Between all the gorgous frilly French costumes and sexy magicians in victorian England I could potentially spontanous combust... with JOOOOYYY <3.

WARNING: This post contains abnormal amounts of nostalgia, fangirling, and general girlyness. Read at your own risk.
I don't really like shoujo all that much save for the odd title or so that catches my interest. But in high school I got into this manga called Mars by Fuyumi Soryo. It had an interesting plot that didn't deal with your typical boy/girl issues. And the DRAMA. I'm a sucker for good angst and it's got it in spades.
However, my evil evil sister Meaghan informed me that Taiwan made a live-action drama in 2004 based on the manga. AND I CANNOT STOP WATCHING IT. They stayed really close to the manga and the guy who plays Rei... well, 'Chen Ling' in the show does an amazing job. He's from the band F4 and he's been in other dramas as well. Not to mention as cheesy as the opening song is, i'm totally in love. Just in case some crazy person actually reads this and is interested, here's a link for this video with the extended opening theme with clips from the show. School starts in less than ONE WEEK OMG!!!!! X___x
I've been lazy and just reading alot still. Twilight and New Moon by Stephanie Meyer are pretty good. The first is the best, of course. But i can't wait till the third. I need to hurry through my pile to get to Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' series. They started production on the first movie yesterday i hear :D.
I've been sketching Rufus ideas but nothing seems to come out. I'm also thinking of starting a webcomic... hmm... I did start coloring the succubus girl lineart though. I hope this turns out alright *crosses fingers*

Not a whole lot to update about. I've bought my books for the upcoming quarter that starts on the 18th. I've also discovered that Charlaine Harris is a pretty decent writer. I'm on the third installment of her Southern Vampire Novels and they're still interesting. The main character's name is Sookie Stackhouse though. I want to know where she pulled that from.
As far as art i've been in a very girly mood lately. All frills and curls and corsets... and boobs. I do warn you the second picture has some boob action. Really badly drawn, but there. I really need to take some life drawing classes :O!

I am so exhausted right now that i think i misspelled exhausted. Or did I? I hate those words where you know the spelling but you write it out and it looks wrong. And you feel like a retard. Anyways, I just got back from the beach. It was very... beachy. Actually, the beaches in Washington and Oregon states are really beautiful. All the lighthouses, tidepools, and gigantic craggy rocks *o*. It's amazing. It's just they are FREEZING COLD. You feel like a walking popsickle... popsicle. Okay, so that one i just didn't know how to spell. But it still looks funny.
Oh, on another note I am officially the BIGGEST NERD EVER. I just bought a ton of Sailor Moon dvds. Yes! It's complete and utter cheese. But i grew up on it in middle and high school. And I bought the uncut Japanese language versions so none of that cheesy 'Sailor Says!' crap. For some reason I've been having serious nostagia for it lately so i bought a bunch of it on Amazon. You'd be suprised how hard it is to find nowadays. When i started getting into anime that's all there waasssss. LOL Now not only do i sound geeky, but old as well XD.
It could have been worse though. I was reading up on Sailor Moon info and apparantly at one point someone tried to make an american version. Only it was part live action, part HORRIBLE AMERICAN ANIMATION OMG O______o. Watch this:

Okay, maybe it's just me... but if i see one more bad 3D animated movie with all animals i'm gonna scream. I love animals, I like 3D animation, and i fully understand it's easier to animate animals than humans. But almost EVERY SINGLE new 3D animated movie is all the same plot with a different set of animals! Sure, I liked a few of them but they all feel the same after a while.
Seriously, can't even one company try something different? Or at least make up their own creatures? Just something other than cows saving the farm or zoo animals break loose. It's getting old.
I don't mean to rant, but today I took my sister to see that Barnyard movie. I fell asleep halfway through it! I mean, the animation quality was decent and they at least had a different art style to it. But besides from a funny scene or two it just felt lifeless. Even the kids in the theater didn't seem to care for it. For every Over the Hedge or Ice Age there's about 9 millon flops like this. Which is really a waste.
End Rant.

I was previously the user 'miss_merrick' but i got tired of the journal and wanted to start fresh. So here i am. I'm gonna make myself post random sketches in here as much as i can, as well as update exraordinarily boring rants about my life :D. I figure most people who are reading this now already know general information about me but for those who don't, I thought I'd explain the important bits.
I'm 21 years old, and I go to a community college in WA as you can see in my user info. I have 3 pets, 2 cats and a boyfriend. I'm thinking of getting a degree in something artistic but i haven't decided yet. Ever since i was a kid i've wanted to be an animator but my true love is 2D animation. An increasingly dying style. I like 3D animation but when you grow up on early Disney, Don Bluth, and Ralph Bakashi films you tend to hold a soft spot for it. I don't mind people IMing or emailing me so long as they have something to say. My brain tends to wander off and forget things... especially important things, so if you don't know what to say, chances are I won't either. I am a complete DORK so be prepared for babblings on any subject imaginable, especially cheesy ones. Oh, and the 'gypsy_prince' username comes from my character Rufus. He's a gypsy and for a long time he used to be the ONLY thing i drew. I wanted my new username to be related and 'gypsyprince' was already taken. The bastards.
I figure that about covers it. I'm gonna go corset shopping with a friend of mine tomorrow in Portland so i'm all giddy like a schoolgirl. I have a weakness for pretty things and I've been wanting a real functional corset for ages now. So in the meantime have some randome scribbles <3
